Tommy Naron, Headmaster
Mr. Naron is from Cleveland, MS and has a BSE & Md. Ed. from Delta State University. He is married to Memorie and has one son David. Mr. Naron has been teaching for over 15 years, and has been at OUS for the last 2 years. His hobbies include restoring old cars & trucks and attending sporting events. His favorite thing about OUS is being with the children.

Emily Grace Ames, Director of Admissions
Emily Grace is from Atlanta, GA and this will be her second year at OUS. She has a B.A. in Mass Communication from Georgia College & State University, and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from The University of Mississippi. Her favorite thing about OUS is working with so many inspiring and talented teachers. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, music, and gardening.

Jenna Atkinson, Office Manager
 Ms. Jenna is from Charlotte, NC, and has her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Mississippi. This will be her second year here at OUS. Her favorite thing about being here is seeing the smiling faces of children walk through the doors of OUS and hearing Ms. Gin-Gin’s Jr K class sing songs in the morning. Her hobbies include spin classes, zumba, cooking and shopping. She will be getting married in September to fiancé Tyler Lovelace.

Sarah Hopkins, Curriculum Coordinator
Ms. Sarah is from Bartlett, TN and has her M.Ed. from The University of Mississippi. She is married to Brian and has one daughter Lynnleigh Kate. Sarah has been teaching for ten years, and has been at OUS for four years. Her favorite thing about teaching is watching children learn and experience new things. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, reading, and cooking.

Laura Karl, PreK Teacher
Ms. Laura is from Memphis, TN and has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, PreK-3, with an endorsement in Special Education. She has been at OUS for four years and loves watching children figure things out on their own. She is married to Kevin Karl and enjoys running and baking.

Laci Mooneyham, PreK Assistant
Ms. Laci is from Argyle, Texas and attended Abilene Christian University. She has three daughters named Emma, Hailey, and Rachael. This is Laci’s second year at OUS and in addition to assisting in Pre K, she also works in our after-school program. Laci’s favorite thing about teaching is being able to be so “hands-on” with the students. Her hobbies include swimming, outside activities, and her children.

Gin-Gin Carlton, JrK Teacher
Ms. Gin-Gin is from Vicksburg, MS and has a M.A.  in Elementary Education from The University of Mississippi. She is married to Eric Carlton and enjoys music, tennis and crafting. Her favorite thing about teaching is the hugs and smiles she gets every day and just being a part of a child’s growth. This is Gin-Gin’s 7th year teaching JrK, and she also teaches music.

Megan Cox, JrK Assistant
Ms. Megan is from Winona, MS and has a degree in Spanish and Liberal Arts from The University of Mississippi. She enjoys reading, spending time with family & friends, and learning about different countries. This is Meg’s first year at OUS, but she spent the past summer doing after-school for our Eagle’s Nest Summer Camp. Meg will also be helping with the after-school program during the regular school year.

Angela Butler, SrK Teacher
Ms. Angela is from Gautier, MS and has a B.S. in Education from The University of Southern Mississippi. She has been teaching for 19 years, and has been at OUS for 12 years. Her favorite thing about teaching is the smiling little faces, the “light bulb moments”, and how each day is unique and interesting. In her spare time Ms. Angela enjoys paper crafting.

Kimberly Cox, First Grade Teacher
Ms. Kimberly is from Alexandria, LA. She is married to Jeremy and has three daughters, Shelby, Darby and Emma. Kimberly has a B.S. in Psychology from Mississippi College and LSU, and has her Alternate Route Teachers Certification. This is her second year at OUS. Her favorite thing about teaching is being with the kids and watching them realize what they are capable of doing. Her hobbies include reading, quilting, and anything in the outdoors.

Edee Temple, Second Grade Teacher
Ms. Temple is from North Carrollton, MS and has a B.S. in Elementary Education (K-8). She is married to Ed and has one son named William. This is Ms. Temple’s first year at OUS, but she has been teaching for 13 years. Her favorite thing about teaching is the students themselves and in her spare time she loves to read.

Summer VanderBoegh, Third Grade Teacher
Ms. Summer is from Paducah, KY and she has been teaching at OUS for four years. She has a B.A. in K-12 Elementary Education (Math & English concentrations) and is pursuing a Master’s Degree at The University of Mississippi. Her favorite thing about teaching is when students have “the light bulb moments.” She enjoys healthy cooking, running, Barre class, and anything active.

Jacqueline Hawn, Fourth Grade Teacher
Ms. Jacque is from Meridian, MS and has a B.A. in Elementary Education (Math & English concentrations) from The University of Mississippi. This is her first year at OUS, and her favorite thing about teaching is making a difference in the lives of children and seeing their faces light up when they learn something new. Her hobbies include reading and playing with her dogs.

Patricia Chrestman, Physical Education Coach
Coach Chrestman is from Oxford, MS and has a B.A. in Elementary Education from The University of Mississippi. She is married to Lee and has two girls Maggie & Griffy who are both students of OUS. Her favorite thing about teaching is being able to enjoy the children. Her hobbies include her children, walking, and taking care of her pets.

Edgar Serrano, Spanish & Computer Teacher
Senor Edgar is from Mexico City, Mexico and has an M. A. TESOL/ Spanish from the University of Mississippi. This is his second year at OUS, and his favorite thing about teaching is hearing all the things the students have to say. He enjoys swimming, running, walking, and playing tennis.

Andi Bedsworth, Art Teacher
Ms. Andi is from Baton Rouge, LA and has a M.F.A. in Costume Design & Technology. She has two girls Clementine and Chloe. This is her first year at OUS, but she has been teaching for eight years. Her favorite thing about teaching is watching children get really “into” their projects. Her hobbies include sewing, walking, reading, scrapbooking, and mixed media art.
